Jindal Vetoes Ballot Change
Governor Jindal has vetoed a bill that would have changed election ballots for candidates not affiliated with the Republicans or Democrats.
Current ballots assign the label "No Party" to such candidates; the bill would have changed that to "Independent". Jindal says he vetoed the bill to avoid problems with existing law that says no party can register in Louisiana under the name "Independent".
