Louisiana Parish President Uses Public Property to Endorse Donald Trump
Terrebonne Parish President Jason Bergeron is accused of using taxpayer property to promote former President Donald Trump in a parade.
WVUE reports that Bergeron used a parish-funded vehicle to promote the former U.S. President in a parade in Houma, Louisiana last weekend.
A life-size cardboard cutout of Trump was on the vehicle, which is parish-funded, as the vehicle traveled along the parade route.
The news station reports that these actions by Bergeron could be an ethics violation.
Parish councilman Brien Pledger is looking into the matter and accusations, and he told WVUE that if found guilty, the Parish President could face criminal charges, which would carry a possible jail sentence and fines.
The councilman hopes that District Attorney in Terrebonne Parish looks into this misuse of public property.
