UPDATE: Vermilion Parish Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer Drew David says the deputy injured in the incident has been released from the hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.

The 17-year-old juvenile who fled from a medical facility Wednesday of last week, is the person, deputies say, who led police on a chase yesterday, will be facing multiple charges.

According to Vermilion Parish Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer Drew David, the 17-year-old was facing charges of burglary, unauthorized use of a movable and intimidation of a witness.

He was brought to court, then brought to a hospital for a medical check up, but he then fled from a deputy.

When a deputy attempted to pull over the car the juvenile was in Sunday, a chase ensued with went from Highway 167 to Highway 14 west.

He was able to drive away from one officer, and he hit the vehicle of another sheriff's deputy. Once cornered, he fled on foot, but was quickly captured.

A deputy was injured because of the crash.

The juvenile will face multiple traffic citations and other charges according to David.

A female passenger was found to be with the 17-year-old.
