Kentucky Educator Named UL System Executive
BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — The University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors has named Kentucky educator Karla Hughes as the system's executive vice president.
The Advocate reports the appointment ranks Hughes as the system's No. 2 leader behind resident Sandra Woodley.
Hughes also was named the system's provost, meaning she will serve as the chief academic officer over programs at the system's nine schools.
Hughes comes to Louisiana after serving more than six years as provost and vice president for academic affairs at Morehead State University in Kentucky.
