NEW ORLEANS (AP) — New charges have been filed against a businessman who has pleaded not guilty to participating in a kickback scheme involving contracts for New Orleans' crime surveillance program.

A grand jury on Friday indicted Mark St. Pierre on charges he bribed a former New Orleans city official, Anthony Jones. Jones pleaded guilty Wednesday to taking payoffs from St. Pierre, who was a city vendor.

Jones was the city's chief technology officer during the administration of former Mayor Ray Nagin.

St. Pierre, a 47-year-old resident of Belle Chasse, is scheduled to be tried next year on charges that include conspiracy, wire fraud, bribery and money laundering.
