St. Landry Parish Sheriff's deputies say they pulled over Michael Anthony Guillory of Lafayette for a stop sign violation. During the traffic stop, officers say he told them that he didn't have a driver's license on him. But officers, after checking his pockets, say they found his license and saw that he had given them a false name. According to police, Guillory had an outstanding warrant as well.

After he was handcuffed, he was being placed into the patrol car when officers say he broke loose and began running between buildings. Deputies say after an hour long search they were able to find Guillory on a rooftop of a local business. He also allegedly had pepper spray in his pants.

Guillory is facing charges for stop sign violation, driving under suspension, resisting an officer, simple escape and introduction of contraband into a penal institution. His bond is currently set at $5,750.00 and he is being held for probation and parole.
