Lafayette Mom Offers Reward For Info On Who Shot Her Kids’ Pet

A Lafayette mother is looking for answers as to why her children’s pet was killed.

On Saturday (Jan. 18), Lauren Gardiner found her pet goat dead in her yard around midday in the Garden District near Teurlings Catholic High School. As you’ll see in the pictures, Uncle Baby Billy Goat (as he was affectionately known) was a part of her and her kids’ lives.

Gardiner says that someone shot the goat in the neck with what she suspects is either a .22 caliber gun or a pellet gun. The shot ultimately killed the goat.

She is offering $500, and the Humane Society is matching, for a total reward of $1,000 to anyone with info that leads to the arrest of the person who shot the family’s pet goat.
