Lafayette Parish Officials Discourage Travel Due To Icy Weather

Law Enforcement and Government Officials of Lafayette Parish are warning all residents not to conduct any unnecessary traveling around the parish due to weather conditions.  Forecasters have predicted overnight rains combined with freezing temperatures could cause some icing on bridges and roadways throughout Lafayette Parish.  Driving in these types of conditions dramatically increases a person’s chances of being involved in a crash. It is strongly recommended that all residents of Lafayette Parish remain off of the roadways during the current freeze warning.  Residents should monitor the weather and roadway conditions on their local media outlets.
