Lafayette Parish School System Now Has “Suggestion Box” About The Budget Shortfall
They are calling it an online suggestion box. Lafayette Parish Public school system employees can use the online suggestion box to give their ideas about how the system can solve their $12 million budget shortfall.
The suggestion box is expected to open this week, and they say by then school district Chief Financial Officer Billy Guidry and others in the administration will have wrapped up their visits to all the schools in the district to lay explain all the upcoming financial challenges for the coming school year.
Guidry says the district has compiled its own list of cost cutting measures, but no official decisions have been made yet.
