LAFAYETTE, La. (KPEL) -- Police in Lafayette are searching for two people whom they believe are responsible for a series of robberies on McKinley Street early Sunday morning.

Cpl. Paul Mouton with the Lafayette Police Department says two of the three victims were approached at gunpoint by two black males and sprayed in the face with mace. Cash and other items were taken from both victims.

A third victim was in her car when the two men reached in and grabbed her purse, according to Mouton.

The suspects are described as two black males, one 5-foot-3 with dreadlocks, the other about 5-foot-5 and wearing a red and grey sweater.
