Lafayette Police Looking for Suspect in Shooting, One Person Injured

A person was injured Thursday night in a shooting in the 200 block of Rue Royale Street.

Lafayette Police Sgt. Wayne Griffin says officers responded to the call around 6:00 pm. Investigators say the victim and suspect were arguing when the suspect allegedly pulled out a handgun and shot the victim.

The victim’s lower torso injury was minor and he was treated at the scene.

The suspect was able to get away and police are still looking.
