Before last night's Lafayette Parish School Board meeting board members were tasked with reviewing 12 different options for the 2019-2020 school year. After their review and some input from the public, the board voted 8 to 1 last night to eliminate all but two of those calendar options.

The two choices the board is considering are these:

Calendar Proposal 1-A  or Calendar Proposal 5-A

Parents, students, educators, and faculty are encouraged to review each calendar option and let their school board representative know how they feel about each choice. The primary differences in the calendars have to do with when school holidays will be scheduled. A major point of consideration is the relation of those holidays as they compare to standardized testing schedules across the state.
