Sen. Olympia Snowe, R-Maine, will sit together during the president's State of the Union address Tuesday night. Sen. Landrieu will join her counterpart on the Senate Small Business and Entrepreneurship Committee, Sen. Snowe, on the side of the House chamber where Republicans have traditionally sat. Last Friday, Sen. Landrieu joined 30 other Senators in the bi-partisan effort to have members sit commingled instead of on separate sides of the aisle.

"Although Olympia and I are members of different political parties, we are first and foremost Americans,” Sen. Landrieu said. “Sitting together during the president's State of the Union address is a small reflection of the friendship Olympia an            d I share. Despite our differences, we have worked as partners on the Small Business Committee to put the recession behind us to help small businesses create jobs and grow our economy. It is this type of bipartisanship that we both hope to continue in the 112th Congress”
