There are many folks in Louisiana who think we have some of the worst drivers in the country. And while subjectively that may be true, the stats will say otherwise.

We only have the 13th worst drivers in the United States!

A new study just ranked all 50 states from best to worst drivers. Four factors were used to base these rankings: 1) Percentage of uninsured drivers 2) DUIs per capita 3) Fatal accidents per capita 4) Google searches for things like "speeding ticket" or "traffic ticket."

(Admittedly, I don't know what the last factor has to do with bad driving, but I digress.)

One area where Louisiana fared really well in was DUIs per capita. We were at 1.57 DUI arrests per 1,000 drivers, which ranked third least in the country behind Illinois and Delaware.

The study is quite interesting. You can check out all the findings here.
