A principal at a high school in Shreveport, Louisiana, is demanding that any girl attending prom send a pic of them in their prom dress for approval.

This demand is not sitting well with some parents, as they believe that it should be the parent's approval that the child needs, not the principal's.

According to BRProud.com, the principal of Southwood High School, Dr. Kim Pendleton, is just trying to make certain that everyone abides by the school's dress code. The text also addressed the boys who would be attending the prom with a date: their guest must also submit a photo for approval.

I understand what the principal is trying to do: prevent any drama or disappointment at the prom. If all dresses are approved prior to the event, then there should be no one turned away from the function.

I would say "Kudos" to this principal for being proactive.

What do you say? Do you think it's a good idea for the principal to request photos for approval?
