Louisiana Woman Arrested After Argument Over Breakfast Leads to Fatal Shooting

LAPLACE, La. — A Sunday morning argument over breakfast went terribly south when a LaPlace man was fatally shot, according to the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office.

According to WWL-TV, Deputies responded to a home on East Lakeview Drive around 10:30 a.m. over the weekend (Feb. 16), where they found 23-year-old Joshua Jones unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities say the suspect, 24-year-old Tamyrihu Hubbard of Marrero, called 911 and admitted to shooting Jones after a dispute over the food that had been prepared. Hubbard was taken into custody at the scene and later booked into the parish jail on a second-degree murder charge. Her bond has been set at $1 million.

The sheriff’s office has not released any other details about what led to the shooting, and the investigation remains ongoing.
