The LSU Athletic Department, along with state health officials and members of the Southeastern Conference have announced COVID protocols and guidelines for the upcoming 2020-2021 men’s and women’s basketball season.

Home games at the Maravich Center will have to follow and comply with all public health guidelines, and that includes fans, team members, and staff. LSU had to change a few gameday policies, but nothing that fans weren't expecting at this point in the ongoing pandemic. Some of the safety measures include masks for not only the arena, but on campus as well, and mandatory social distancing inside the building during games. No fans will be allowed on the arena floor during the games, and they must stay at least 12 feet from any of the floor seats next to the court.

According to WAFB, LSU officials are saying "Based on updated directives from the Governor’s office and state public health officials, alcohol sales WILL NOT be available for purchase in general or premium areas of the Maravich Center. This is subject to change and LSU will continue to coordinate with state officials"

Also, since games played at the Maravich Center can only have 25% capacity (for now) season ticket holders who opted in for the season were given a chance last week to choose their tickets for men's basketball games. The LSU Athletics Ticket Office contacted ticket holders with information about the distribution of tickets ahead of the first game, which is tonight, Monday, November 30. Some non-conference single-game tickets could be available but on a limited basis. Student tickets will be available for all games.
