LSU Tops Mississippi St., 37-17

The ninth-ranked LSU Tigers captured an SEC home win on Saturday night, defeating the 22nd-ranked Mississippi St. Bulldogs, 37-17, at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge.
Mississippi St. led got to within three points, at 20-17, at the 12:52 mark of the third quarter, but LSU dominated from there, scoring the last 17 points of the game, to rack-up the 20-point victory.
The Tigers out-gained the Bulldogs, in terms of total yards, 392-351, including a 119-47 advantage on the ground.
Quarterback Zach Mettenberger led the LSU offensive attack, 19-of-30 passes, for 273 yards and two touchdowns, while Jarvis Landry had nine receptions for 109 yards and a score.
In a losing cause for Mississippi St., quarterback Tyler Russell threw for 295 yards and a touchdown.
With the win, LSU improved to 8-2 overall, and 4-2 in SEC play, while Mississippi St. fell to 7-3 overall, and 3-3 in league play.
