38-year-old Joshua Boutte is in the Iberia Parish Correctional Center after Sheriff's deputies say he allegedly tried to kidnap a juvenile at gunpoint.

According to a press release from the Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a call Tuesday night in the 700 block of Lake Dauterive Road. By the time officers got to the scene, Boutte had gotten away. Fortunately, the person who called 911 was able to not only get the child back from him, but was also able to get the gun - which was stolen - away that he pulled out on them as well.
