MEYERSDALE, Pa. (AP) — A man charged with killing a western Pennsylvania woman whose body was found buried near the Great Allegheny Passage biking and hiking trail has been arrested in Louisiana.

State police in Somerset say 23-year-old Jonathan Beal was arrested about 6:45 a.m. Wednesday hiding in a bathroom in the New Orleans suburb of Marrero by local sheriff's deputies and federal marshals.

Police didn't say how they traced Beal to Louisiana.

He was charged Tuesday in the strangulation death of 19-year-old Justine Jackson, who is also from Meyersdale. Her body was found in a shallow grave Sunday by a hiker, along the trail not far from her home about 70 miles southeast of Pittsburgh.

Online court records don't list an attorney for Beal who is being held in Louisiana pending extradition to Pennsylvania.
