A Port Barre man has been sentenced to twenty-one years in federal prison for abducting a 15-year-old girl for the purpose of engaging in sex with a minor.

U.S. District Judge Robert Summerhays sentenced 48-year-old Cory Shane Disotell for transporting the girl to Mississippi and Colorad, where he had sex with the girl.

In addition to his sentence, Summerhays made Disotell turn over his Braztech S1118 shotgun that he had in his possession when he was arrested in Durango, Colorado.

Disotell will also have to register as a sex offender after he gets out of prison. The man entered a guilty plea back in October.

The prosecutors say that Disotell worked with the girl on their plan which began when he picked her up from school then took her to Mississippi and ultimately Colorado.

Disotell was arrested after a nationwide hunt by multiple law enforcement agencies.

According to officials, this arrest was part of a nationwide initiative (Project Safe Childhood) that started in 2006 to crack down on child abuse and exploitation of children.
