BASTROP, La. (AP) — Morehouse Parish Sheriff Mike Tubbs says drowning was the cause of death for a man who tried to escape bail bond agents by jumping into a north Louisiana bayou. Tubbs said Friday an autopsy revealed no indications that 29-year-old Johnathan Nelson was injured when he jumped in the water Sunday. Deputies found Nelson Thursday. Nelson had missed a court date in Monroe last month and was being sought by agents for a bail bond company. Nelson's brother, Sean, told investigators that the agents broke the window of the vehicle he was in and attacked him after Johnathan Nelson got out of the vehicle and ran to the bayou. Tubbs said no arrests have been made. Results of an investigation will be turned over to the Morehouse district attorney for review.
