New Petroleum Labs Endowment At Nicholls

THIBODAUX, La. (AP) — Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, La., says a Mississippi-based oil and gas company has completed arrangements for the first installment of an endowment that will pay for new petroleum service labs at Nicholls.

Tellus Operating Group LLC of Mississippi is making the initial $10,000 gift in the multiple-source endowment. Nicholls said this week that the total endowment is expected to exceed $300,000. An additional $3,000 is coming from Turbo-Chem International Inc. of Houston, Texas.

The first phase of the project includes constructing and equipping a state-of-the-art drilling fluids laboratory and student computing center.
