New Pollution Rules

The Environmental Protection Agency announces new rules for pollution carried across state lines. Under the changes, Louisiana is required to reduce nitrogen oxide emissions from power plants during the summer ozone season by 16,415 tons from what levels were in 2005. The reduction needs to be met by 2014 with the new rule going into effect January 1st. Six neighboring states will also have to reduce emissions.
