Broussard Police Department will not file criminal charges against any Katherine Drexel Elementary School employees after a complaint by a parent that her child was left for hours in soiled clothing.

Police Chief Brannon Decou told the Adveriter Tuesday "Everything that we investigated was unfounded," Decou said. He also said some basic claims Wilson made were wrong.  They lookend into the complaint Serenity Wilson filed after she said her son came home from school with pants soiled with urine and feces. She said it happened several times a week.  "Our investigation found that the child was not deemed a special needs child through the school. The child has never been tested. He's never been documented by a doctor or found to be autistic," Decou said.
Although Wilson said her son had an Individualized Education Plan, she was never able to produce one for inspection. A copy of his Individual Accommodation Plan, or IAP, however, was obtained.
IAPs are created for students with disabilities, according to the Louisiana Department of Education.
Wilson's son's most recent IAP was signed by Drexel principal Jed Hebert on Jan. 18, according to the document. The IAP only showed that the child had learning disabilities and required many accommodations, including frequent bathroom use. The severity of that need was not detailed, however.
Decou also said no one at the school saw the child in soiled clothes. Wilson has photos of her 7-year-old son's soiled pants and underwear, but Decou said the investigating officer never saw that uniform.
"When she picked him up at school she should have gone straight to the administrator at that time," Decou said.
Efforts to reach Serenity Wilson were unsuccessful Tuesday. She did not answer nor return several calls to her home or cell phone.
The Lafayette Parish School System has stayed mum on the issue. Last week spokeswoman Angie Simoneaux said the school system investigated the situation, but said she legally could not provide more details.
