34-year-old Rachel Andreport of Opelousas was hit by a train early Tuesday morning, and is alive to tell about it.

Lt. Megan Vizena with the St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office says it happened around 5:00 a.m. when Andreport's Chevy pickup truck apparently got stuck on the railroad tracks on Acadiana Road in the Lawtell area near Highway 190. Witnesses said they saw Andrepont outside her vehicle trying to push it off the tracks. When the train sounded the horn, she then got back inside and was hit by the train.

Thankfully, Andreport only suffered minor injuries. Her truck suffered major damage to the passenger side.

Andreport was cited for obstructing a railroad crossing.
