Parades Set To Roll In Lafayette
It will be a busy day for folks going to Mardi Gras in Lafayette.
There are three parades scheduled for Lafayette's Mardi Gras today:
- King Gabriel Parade: Starts at 10 a.m.
- Lafayette Mardi Gras Association Parade: Starts at 1 p.m.
- Independent Parade: Starts at 2 p.m.
If you love bead and other throws then Lafayette will offer up these three great parades with dozens of floats and hundreds of riders ready to throw something to you.
At least one parade-goer is ready for some bead action today. Charlotte Davis is featured on Facebook with her Mardi Gras colors showing, her chair ready, and the right attitude to catch some beads today.
All of the parades in Lafayette today will start at Simcoe, Surrey and Jefferson Streets and ultimately end up at Le Festival De Mardi Gras at CajunField.
The parade begins on Jefferson Street then winds down to Chestnut, Buchanan, West Congress, Lafayette, Vermilion, and then on to Johnston Street. Once on Johnston, the parades will travel from there to North College and then ending up at Cajun Field.
