After severe storms passed through Acadiana late last night into early this morning, people across the region woke up to severe storm damage right in their front yards...

The posts from the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's office reveal damage to a carport on North Portage Road. It also shows downed power lines on Bushville Hwy, In between Huron and Simon Angelle.

That road is closed until further notice.

These pictures posted by the Mayor of Kaplan shows major property damage and a lot of tree limbs down. He suspects a small twister made its way through the area. No injuries have been reported.

Closer to home in Lafayette, we have listener-submitted pictures of storm damage across the street from the Open Door Church.

Shelly Landry says that her daughter woke up after hearing a very loud noise. The noises were described as being "extremely loud and terrible."

The impacts from the storm were also enough to knock out windows in their living room as well as both passenger windows on her Sheriff Deputy's Unit.

Crews are on scene, continuing to reverse the aftermath of these storms. Please use extreme caution when driving around today. Watch for fallen trees and powerlines.
