Poll: Workers Are More Productive When Comfortable
Casual Fridays are a real thing! Research indicates most workers are more productive when they feel comfortable.
A few years ago, then Louisiana Governor Mike Foster, was visiting the radio station. When we were introduced, he eyed me up and down, and said, "well, you look really comfortable." I was attired in shorts, and a New York Yankees T-shirt. I said, "Yes sir, that’s the beauty of radio versus television." He was wearing jeans and a hoodie.
Yahoo reports a recent survey of 2,000 full and part-time American workers reveals 82% feel being comfortable in their clothing contributes to productivity at work. 71% say being in casual clothes makes them feel more accomplished, and 56% say being comfortable in their clothes makes them feel more confident at work. I'm fortunate. Our operations manager wears shorts to work almost every day of the year.
