President’s State Of The Union Speech

When President Obama gives his State Of The Union speech this week, members of Louisiana's congressional delegation will buck a long- standing trend of separate seating--based on political party. Metairie Republican Congressman Steve Scalise says he'll sit next to a Democratic colleague. Scalise and Richmond are among a number of U.S. House and Senate members choosing to sit in a party-mixed fashion. He says, after all, they are all part of the same team. The State Of The Union address is scheduled for 8pm tomorrow night. Scalise says when the House is in session, the chamber is divided

with one party to the left side, and one to the right. But he says the President's annual address is a different situation. Scalise says congressmen and senators can have differing politics and still be friends and respectful colleagues.
