GULFPORT, Miss. (AP) — A Pascagoula woman has been ordered to repay the federal government thousands of dollars in a major fraud case involving Hurricane Katrina recovery funs.

Myra Hilton pleaded guilty on Sept. 24 to fraud conspiracy, admitting that she allowed just over $56,000 to be deposited into her checking account by other participants in the scheme.

U.S. District Judge Louis Guriola Jr. ordered her Friday to pay back that amount to the Federal Emergency Management Agency and serve three years of probation.

Five people involved in the scheme owe more than $721,212 in restitution. Three of the four others have been sent to prison.
