UNDATED (AP) — President Barack Obama has ordered that flags be lowered at government buildings today to mark the 50th anniversary of President John F. Kennedy's assassination.

Earlier this week, Obama visited Kennedy's grave at Arlington National Cemetery.

Today in Dallas, thousands of people will mark the day with a solemn ceremony in Dealey Plaza, where Kennedy was shot while riding in his motorcade.
