RUSTON, La. (AP) — Calvin Robinson has been hired as an assistant track and field coach at Louisiana Tech.

Head coach Gary Stanley announced the hiring in a Wednesday news release. Robinson comes to Tech after four years as an associate head coach at the University of Miami, where he guided a high jumper to the 2012 London Olympics.

Earlier, Robinson spent four years as an assistant coach at Texas-El Paso where he sent a women's long jumper and men's high jumper to the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. Robinson was also an assistant coach at Sam Houston State from 2000-2004.
