The New Orleans Saints are down a receiver and a defensive lineman.

The team placed receiver Keith Kirkwood on injured reserve on Tuesday, while also releasing defensive tackle Taylor Stallworth.

The 24-year old Kirkwood, who caught 13 passes for 209 yards and two touchdowns as a rookie with the Saints last season, went down with a hamstring injury during warmups of the Saints' game against the Los Angeles Rams last Sunday.

By going on IR, Kirkwood will be ineligible to play for 8 weeks, and won't be able to practice with the team for 6 weeks.

The 24-year old Stallworth, who was inactive on Sunday against the Rams, played in 14 games with the Saints last season, compiling 6 tackles.

In addition, the Saints re-signed quarterback J.T. Barrett to their practice squad.
