Louisiana Restaurant’s Stolen Pig Mascot Returned After Hilarious Christmas ‘Theft’
Christmas Day got a little crazy at Salty Joe’s restaurant when someone stole their big pig mascot. The thief, caught on security cameras, (slowly) rolled the pig into a trailer and drove away.
Salty Joe’s shared the video on Facebook, and it quickly became a hit online. People couldn’t stop laughing and sharing funny comments about the unusual “pignapping.”
Some of the funniest comments:
- "Someone save our piggy 😔😔😔" – Brooke Hubert
- "She really risked it for the brisket, geez!" – Aubree Carrier
- "What’s her beef with the pork? And what was she smokin’?" – Janah Torrance
- "She really took 'bringing home the bacon' to the next level." – Julie Hunley
- "The determination on this lady is insane. I wish more people had work ethic like this 😂" – Zack Sharp
Salty Joe’s even joined the fun, calling the thief a “Grinch” and joking, “If you decide to pignap next year, wear something green and furry. Maybe we can make you famous!”
After two failed attempts, the woman finally got the pig, although she seemed to struggle with the process. One commenter pointed out, “I’m more concerned she doesn’t understand simple gravity and physics. Push down on the tongue, lady, it will roll.”
Luckily, the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office found the pig and returned it safely on Friday, though it had a small tear on its ear. Salty Joe’s updated everyone, saying, “She is in recovery as we speak.”
Even though no charges were pressed, some fans suggested creative punishments. One person wrote, “The reward should be pork belly for life.”
Now, Salty Joe’s has their pig back, and everyone has a hilarious story to tell. As one commenter put it, “Only in Hammond could a pig mascot be the centerpiece of Christmas drama!”
