Self-inflicted Shot & Clothing Choice Lands Breaux Bridge Robbery Suspect in St. Landry Parish Jail
43-year-old Landon Dwayne Jimmerson of Breaux Bridge now sits in the St. Landry Parish Jail after a self-inflicted gunshot wound and the clothes he wore during two armed robberies he allegedly committed led to him being arrested.
According to a press release from the St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office, the Lucky's 190 Truck Stop in Opelousas was robbed at gunpoint on December 5, 2020. Investigators say a suspect described as a black male wearing a blue sweatshirt with grey trim around the neck area, green camouflage pants, a brown cap and grey tennis shoes went inside the store with a gun, demanded money from an employee and ran away.
While allegedly getting away from committing another armed robbery, investigators say Jimmerson shot himself in the leg. Detectives say when Jimmerson was questioned by them, he allegedly lied to them about the wound and said he got it during a domestic dispute in another parish. But, detectives say they noticed Jimmerson was wearing the exact identical clothes as the suspect in the video footage from the Lucky's 190 Truck Stop robbery, except the brown cap.
Jimmerson has been charged with Armed Robbery with his bond set at $150,000.
