Slidell Minister Gets 3 Years For Sex Crimes
COVINGTON, La. (AP) — A Slidell minister, convicted of having a three-month sexual relationship with a 16-year-old girl, has been sentenced to three years in prison.
Forty-four-year-old Keith James Boyd, pastor of the Open Door Apostolic Church, was found guilty in March of carnal knowledge and indecent behavior with a juvenile.
The Times-Picayune reports (http://bit.ly/ILQnKj ) state District Judge William Knight sentenced Boyd Thursday in Covington.
Once released, Boyd will be on active supervised probation with special requirements. He is forbidden from acting as a pastor or counselor our having any unsupervised contact with minors. He must also register as a sex offender and pay restitution to the victim in the amount of her therapy expenses.
