This hospital in Idaho does something that is so moving: the Organ Donor Walk of Respect.

When an organ donor dies in a hospital, they are kept on life support to keep fresh blood flowing through the organs (otherwise the tissues begin to break down and the organs will not be viable for transplant).

At this hospital in Idaho, all available employees are asked to report to the hall where the donor, accompanied by his or her family, is wheeled to the operating room.

This show of respect for the donor, and his or her family, is very moving.

If you have not yet signed up to be an organ donor, please do so. You won't need your organs after you are dead, but one of your friends or family members might.

For more information, contact the Louisiana Organ Procurement Agency (LOPA).
