St. Martin Parish Police Apprehends Burglary Suspect

On January 28, 2011 St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a residential burglary in progress on Las Huval Road in the Arnaudville area. Upon the arrival of patrol deputies, a black male fled from the victim’s residence. Deputies immediately began forming a perimeter; as a K-9 Unit from the S. L. I. C. E Division (Street Level Criminal Enforcement) arrived on scene. As deputies began to track the suspect he again attempted to

flee at which time a Sheriff’s K-9 was deployed. After a short foot pursuit the K-9 apprehended the suspect who was identified to be Jerome Livings, 22, Breaux Bridge. Jerome Livings was taken to an area hospital where he received medical treatment for his injuries prior to being transported to the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center. Livings was then booked on the following charges:

Criminal Damage to Property, 2 counts

Simple Burglary

Attempted Burglary

Resisting an Officer
