Louisiana’s colleges are about to get an injection of money from Louisiana’s treasury.

Governor Bobby Jindal’s administration filed a loan request for $40 million with Treasurer John Kennedy’s office.

The colleges are in need of money to continue funding their operations based on Jindal’s budgeting.

They need to the money to fill the gap after the way in which lawmakers and the Jindal administration set up their budget through the state’s $25 billion budget.

The money being used comes from property sales, legal settlements and other financing.

Until the money gets into the State’s coffers, the state will borrow the $40 million from other places in the budget.
