NEW ORLEANS (AP) — New Orleans police have booked a 20-year-old man with murder after authorities say he shot and killed a man during a botched armed robbery Monday night.

The Advocate reports (http://bit.ly/UTtk9x ) Bobby James was arrested Tuesday and booked with second-degree murder for the fatal shooting of 34-year-old Cory Bush.

Police said that Bush was shot after he surprised three men who were robbing his relative at his Algiers home.

Three men had already forced Bush's relative back inside the home at gunpoint demanding money. When Bush arrived at the home, the men panicked and opened fire. Bush was shot multiple times and died in a driveway.

Detective Barret Morton identified James as a suspect but investigators are still trying to determine the identity of the two other robbers.
