Suspect Sought In Carjacking

Last night around 9:30 pm, Lafayette Police responded to the 100 block of Tucker Drive regarding a carjacking.  The victim, a 19-year-old male, was walking outside of a retail store when a black male suspect in a hooded sweatshirt approached him and requested a light for his cigarette.  The suspect then produced a handgun and stole the victim’s wallet and car keys to his 1999 silver Chevrolet Monte Carlo.  The suspect fled the area in the victim’s vehicle.  The victim was not injured during the incident.

Lafayette Police are asking anyone who may have information on the incident or can reveal the identity of the suspect to call the Lafayette Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
