Residents in certain parishes in Louisiana will soon be able to apply for a state grant program that provides money to homeowners to upgrade their roofs.

Louisiana Citizens Fair Plan policyholders may be eligible for a grant of up to $10,000 under the Louisiana Fortify Homes Program (LFHP). The program is designed to help homeowners repair or replace their roofs to withstand hurricane-force winds and possibly save on insurance costs.

As severe storms rolled through Acadiana, the roof was torn off at approximately 4:30 p.m. Thursday.

Jody Marks, who owns LA. Drone Services, says they have been hired by the Cajundome to do the cleaning of the roof.

Apparently, the roofing company got the wrong address for a job but now the family is experiencing damage to their home as insurance issues continue.
