With all eyes on the Gulf of Mexico, citizens in Acadiana are preparing for a possible storm and flooding.

As the weather is expected to get inclement today across Acadiana, here are the sandbag locations in your area .

Due to the possibility of flooding in some areas of St. Martin Parish, sandbagging operations will begin on Saturday, January 9.

The New Iberia Public Works Department will hand out filled sandbags from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. today at 907 Fulton Street.

Anyone wanting sandbags will need to bring their own shovel, and they will have to bag the sand themselves.

Police remind everyone to drive safely.

There are two locations for sandbags in the parish.

The St. Landry Parish Government says they will continue to monitor the weather today.

Residents are asked to take no more than 20 bags per household.

In Loreauville, sand bags, sand, and shovels are being passed out by the Iberia Parish Government at Loreauville Park on Ed Broussard Road for residents in the low-lying areas of the town.

St. Martin Parish Sheriff's officials want to remind residents that they can pick up sand bags from 7 am to 5:30 pm till further notice.

Sandbags are now available for Butte Larose residents.
