Beginning at noon today (Sept. 29), there will be yet another way for you to purchase your tickets for this year's Honorfest starring Trace Adkins.

Gary Edmonson, an Acadiana US Army veteran, is celebrating his 70th year of performing for military events.

Having never seen combat, I can not even begin to imagine the horror, fear, shame and guilt. Though thankful that I never had to go to war, I'm more thankful for those who did answer that call.

State Police Trooper Brooks David as we discussed the U.S. Marines Birthday on Tuesday, Veterans Day and the men who were honored with the Civilian Medal of Valor for their act of heroism while assisting Senior Trooper Steven Vincent in the shooting which took Vincent's life on August 23, 2015.

This weekend we observe Memorial Day, a day to reflect upon those souls that were lost defending our country.

Westwego recognizes 12 holidays for employees; council members said adding a 13th would be too costly.

Across the country on Monday, Americans observed Veterans Day, commemorating the service of its military men and women, active and retired, or killed in action.

All events are open to the public.

Proposed features for the memorial include granite towers engraved with the names of veterans killed in action, and memorial brick pavers engraved with the names of past and present veterans.
