A popular auto parts store in Texas may be forced to close in 2025.

As we approach the new year, we begin to hear of new beginnings, and sadly, we also hear of things coming to an end.

Some local businesses have already announced that once their lease is up at the end of 2024, they will be locking the doors for good, and now a major auto parts brand has announced that they will be closing a number of their stores in 2025.

In a financial report just released, Advance Auto Parts announced this week that it will be closing more than 700 locations by mid-2025.

In the report by the Advance Auto Parts brand, they said the closures of the stores were to, “Improve business performance with a focus on core retail improvements.”

The closures are expected to impact 500 corporate stores and 200 independently-owned stores across the country.

Shane O’Kelly, president and chief executive officer says in the report, “We are charting a clear path forward and introducing a new three-year financial plan, with a focus on executing core retail fundamentals to improve the productivity of all our assets and to create shareholder value."

Nowhere in the report does it announce or identify which stores or locations will lock the doors for good in 2025. Advance Auto Parts has over 4700 stores in operation in the United States.
