The members of Lafayette Parish Sheriff Mark Garber's Search and Rescue Team are working to remove a vehicle from a bayou.

The vehicle is in a bayou area right by the 400 block of North Wilderness Trail in Carencro.

Valerie Ponseti, spokeswoman for the Sheriff's Office, says that the driver of the car is fine.

Ponseti tells Kpel that the woman had the vehicle in a driveway when a bug came into the car.

The woman, likely reacting to her fear, jumped out of the car, and that's when the vehicle went in the water.

The vehicle is fully submerged in the water.
