Randy Travis is canceling all but three dates of his upcoming "The Music of Randy Travis" tour.

The tour, which will feature Acadiana's own James Dupré on vocals, was originally scheduled for 12 dates in October and November.

Shows are still scheduled for the following:

  • October 17 - Evansville, Indiana (Victory Theatre)
  • October 19 - Gulfport, Mississippi (Island View Casino)
  • October 28 - Nashville, Tennessee (Ryman Auditorium)

According to Travis' rep, the country star nixed the dates due to production and content issues. (We're not exactly sure what that means, to be honest.)

At any rate, Travis and his team are focusing their efforts on the three remaining shows and hope to add more markets on the next trek.

This tour was to feature James Dupré filling in for the iconic singer backed by Randy Travis' touring band. Travis would attend all the shows and possibly sing on his signature hit "Forever and Ever, Amen."
