The Raccoon who Inspired Guardians of the Galaxy character has died
The raccoon that inspired the model of Rocket the Raccoon from Marvel's 'Guardians of the Galaxy' has died.
Oreo was 10 years old.
The news was announced by his owners on their Facebook page.
Quinta Layla, Oreo's owner, recounts memories from the life of sweet Oreo.
She says that Oreo, "made so many people’s lives happy," and that he has been an amazing ambassador for raccoons everywhere."
Layla remembers his temperament and how he was quite different from other raccoons.
"You loved all people of all ages and other animals too and were never phased by anything be it a walk down the red carpet as Rocket Raccoon, a trip to a hospice to visit a sick child or anything else that came your way. You just enjoyed everything and it showed."
Oreo has indeed left a lasting impression on Marvel Fans everywhere and the Marvel Universe will not be the same without him.
Oreo will be immortalized as Rocket the Raccoon where his memory will live on for others to enjoy.
The character is voiced by Bradley Cooper and will appear in 'Avenger's: Endgame' set to release April 25.
