THIBODAUX, La. (AP) — A 25-year-old man has agreed to a 20-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to killing his 3-year-old daughter, who was in his pickup truck when he crashed while driving drunk just outside Thibodaux.

The Courier reports Kevin Vicknair of Thibodaux will have to serve at least five years in prison without parole.

Vicknair entered his plea before state District Judge John LeBlanc on Monday.

The plea came about five months after Vicknair killed his daughter Natalie and injured his 4-year-old son Nathan. The boy's injuries were minor.

Kevin Vicknair will be sentenced Aug. 29.
